Making an Appointment

receptionYou can make a routine appointment with the doctor or nurse by phoning the surgery or by calling in person when the reception is open:

You have a right to express a preference of practitioner and we will do our best to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice.  Should your preferred doctor not have a free appointment you will be offered an appointment with one of the other GP’s in the practice.

You will never be refused to see a doctor if one is available however, same day appointments will not always be available. Please let staff know if it is urgent and if possible a little bit about the urgent condition to triage you effectively. If you no longer need your appointment please let us know.

Please remember that appointments are for ONE person only. If you need more than one person to be seen please make receptionist aware of this so that they can arrange a double appointment.

Please inform us of any changes to your phone number, medical conditions, medications, allergies, address or any other information you think may be relevant to your health.

How Do I Make A Same Day Urgent Appointment?

Please make staff aware about the urgency of your appointment so they can triage you effectively. We will then offer you a walk-in time slot for these type of appointments.

If possible please try to telephone reception before 10:00 if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed.

You can be visited at home by a public health nurse if you are referred by your GP.
