HSMC is monitoring and following Coronavirus updates from the HSE/ HSPC and ICGP.
The current ‘lockdown’ efforts are to try slow and perhaps stall the spread of the virus.
With respect to our responsibility to reduce footfall so as to increase social distancing, HSMC is asking any patient with a non urgent/ routine/ postponable appointment for either doctor or nurse NOT TO ATTEND the practice this week. No need to ring and cancel.
For example; Please do not attend this week for ; routine bloods, routine antenatals ( where Mum has no concerns), Chronic Disease Management, ear syringing, driving licence medicals, insurance forms, routine dressings and long standing medical complaints which can wait a few more weeks.
PLEASE DO ATTEND (AFTER RINGING FIRST) FOR ALL EMERGENCIES WHICH REQUIRE GP MANAGEMENT.
HSMC has a full complement of staff present in the surgery during opening hours to deal urgent and un-deferrable medical issues including nurses and male and female doctors.
The doctors at HSMC are happy to deal with medical queries over the phone as a telephone consultation. Please be aware our phone lines are busy.
Under current circumstances, HSMC is willing to accept email contacts who cannot get through on the phone from patients and will endeavour to address same. However, please be aware that we do NOT consider our email server is secured, nor is it encrypted nor GDPR compliant and you must weigh up these factor when choosing to put your personal information in an email to us.

We have established a protocol with local pharmacies whereby if you have contacted us for renewal of your regular prescriptions, your prescription will be collected by your local pharmacist and made ready for you in the pharmacy. Please allow the usual 48 hour turnaround for this process. Please understand this situation prevents us reviewing your medication as would be best medical practice.
